History of Establishment
2005/ The ITS Working Group was established, as part of the Greek e-Business forum initiative
2006/ The Group published and presented the results of the work to the Greek ITS Community – A Working Group among relevant ITS stakeholders was established, in order to create the status and to prepare all the necessary actions towards the establishment of ITS Hellas
2008/ After 2 years of voluntary work, ITS Hellas was officially established as a non-profit limited company
Vision & Objectives
To promote the development and deployment of ITS in Greece
To promote the export of Greek technology and experience abroad
To contribute towards increased road safety, environmental protection, efficiency of transport systems and mobility of persons and goods
To assist in alleviating institutional and legislative barriers towards successful ITS projects’ implementation
To liaise between its members and relevant international organizations
To provide timely and relevant information to its members
To assist state authorities in ITS related activities
To assist state authorities in formulating ITS related strategies and policies
To promote the added value of ITS technologies
To disseminate relevant information to its members and to the wider society on ITS issues
